UFC matchmaker Joe Silva recently contacted ROF promoter Sven Bean looking for a "good, exciting 155 guy" to fight MFS standout Spencer Fischer. Bean immediately suggested ROF Light Weight Champion Alvin Robinson. Robinson is contracted to fight this weekend in Canada however, and despite efforts between all parties the match could not be made. Bean then offered former Light Weight Champion Leonard Garcia, who with a 13-1 record made sense as an opponent for Fischer. Garcia is coming off a 1st round submission victory at ROF 23. Silva agreed and yet one more ROF fighter can be added to the list of athletes who have gotten their shot via ROF exposure. The Martinez Fischer bout will be on the under card of the UFC 60 Hughes Gracie event, held May 27th in LOs Angeles, CA.
